Weekend Round Up………
DGL1 (4-0) South Kilburn
FC Deportivo Galicia took their chance to leapfrog to second place in the Middlesex County Football League Premier Division following a convincing 4-0 win against bottom placed South Kilburn FC.

From the start the team were looking for a goal and as ever when DGL are in need of goals, they can count on Antón Fernández Casal ‘bulletman’ , who scored his brace within the first 20 minutes – he now has a total of 17 goals to his name this season.

Tes Tone made it 3-0 with a great header after magnificent cross by Daniel Alves .South Kilburn had two good chances to pull one back, first through a free-kick that went over the crossbar and then a DGL defensive error also could’ve seen the first half end 3-1.

At the beginning of the second half Mo Kamara cleared the ball on the line. Felipe Nogaledo – who came on as a second half sub – astonished everyone with a superb lob over the keeper from outside the box which made it 4-0 to us.

The final minutes of the game were very intense, MK was sent off and we almost got the fifth goal of the game.

Speaking after the match, DGL coach José Andón said: “It was a great result to get the three points” however he stated that the team “can still improve on performance” and that he is very pleased as they “continue to meet the targets to win the league”.

Man of the match was given to defender Chema Rios Conceiro for an outstanding performance.

DGL1 are currently 2nd in the league with 25 points, eight points behind leaders FC Assyria – with four games in hand – while South Kilburn are still bottom of the table.

DGL1’s next match will be on the 26th of November against Cricklewood Wanderers.

DGL1 Report by Monica Villar

LPOSSA Res (2-5) DGL2

A very convincing and satisfying result for our boys as they went in at halftime with a massive 0-4 lead. Great when that happens and even better when it puts you in a position that you can touch the semifinals.

Goals from Stephan, Adri Moya Neko Dolce Fran Nebot & Richard Domingues completed the rout in impressive fashion.

A stand up and solid performance from “young” Hafide Ibnahaten kept the boys level headed to see out the match and earned himself the MOM. Nice one Haf.

Need to check the League records to see if any club has retained the JEFF Nardin League Cup! Can you imagine? Now that would be an achievement, but need to check.

Both MOMs from DGL1 & 2 earned themselves tickets to the England Spain game. Very well done lads.

Garston Vets (1-0) DGLVets
Garston were lucky to say the least as they managed to steal the game in the last 5 mins. They thought we’d gone all that way for a kick about and they would have a breeze!! They had to work for their win and with a “Gloried Up” ref who kept on reminding us that he referees in front of 10,000 crowds every week, we even had him to deal with…… really, all sorts of fruitcakes out there.

A fantastic performance From stand in keeper Nico Lopez was definitely the highlight but once we settled we did play some very good football although it was clear, we ain’t as quick as we used to be, lol. This team is taking shape though. Both DGL1&2 coaching staff all involved in the game. Good to see.

In all, another excellent weekend for the Club.
