Cricklewood Wanderers FC (1-3) DGL1

FC Deportivo Galicia London returned to league action this week with yet another impressive display against Cricklewood Wanderers.

It was a very intense first half for both teams; however DGL enjoyed the most chances through Michel Chinito Payne , Antón Fernández Casal and Shane Thomas, while goalkeeper Manu Turko avoided a Cricklewood goal.

At the start of the second half Shane took advantage of a home team defensive error to put DGL in the lead but this was quickly cancelled out by a Cricklewood equaliser.

The team didn’t put their arms down, instead they fought with everything they had and sure enough they got their prize as AR Bashir-Ali scored a brilliantly timed header to give us the 2-1 lead with 20 minutes to go.

Of course this match report wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t mention our ‘pichichi’ Antón ‘Bulletman’ Fernández, his goal sentenced the game towards the end of the second half.

All players had a great match, but Gill was the player to receive MOM this week.

Once again Deportivo Galicia have shown why they are where they are in the league, 28 points keeps them in second place, with four games and eight points less than table toppers FC Assyria.

DGL’s next match will be a cup game against Kensington Dragons this Saturday 3rd of December, 3:00pm Kick-Off at Bedfont Rec Ground, Hatton Road, TW14 9JR

DGL2 (0-2) Soccered FC

DGL2 went into this game with a relatively young but has to be said talented squad. This weekend the club had a significant amount of enforced changes where no less than 4 players stepped straight into DGL1 duty and taking with it a vast amount of experience.

Mistakes were punished and the resultant 2 goals conceded are a testament to that, but what mustn’t be overlooked is that the club was able to show that it now has depth and can now draw on the services of a substantially high level of player.

Big performances from Xavi Perez returning from a stubborn knee injury and a MOM performance for the returning Ivan Costa Suarez were the highlights of the game.

The boys will be hoping to bounce back on Saturday as they face Hillingdon Res FC at home. With a kick off time of 1:00pm at home and if you really wanted to get “footballed up” you may want to visit our home pitch on Saturday for a feast of high quality football.

That was a big result on Saturday for DGL1 !!! on course and the picture ( Arantxa Arranz ) captures the mood perfectly.

Another thumbs up for the Club.
