Weekend Round Up………

DGL1 (3-0) Pitshanger Dynamo FC
By Monica Villar

Deportivo Galicia have ended the year on a high by beating Pitshanger Dynamo 3-0 last Saturday.

The team got off to a shaky start, Pitshanger were getting the clearest chances and the team as a whole seemed very nervous.
MK put the team in the lead within the first 30 minutes of the game, a lovely strike that ended in the top left-hand corner; before that Antón Fernández Casal chipped the ball over the keeper but overdid it, sending the ball over the crossbar.

The rest of the first half it was DGL who were setting the pace, just before half time defender Martin Decabo was subbed due to injury. The half-time whistle came just as Depor were clearly dominating the game, because when the second half began Pitshanger decided to put up a fight.

Tes Tone had a great chance when he was left alone in the rival’s box, but was denied by the opposing goalie. He would later compensate by assisting Antón ‘Bullet man’ Fernández in the second goal.

Pitshanger nearly pulled one back, but as ever goalkeeper Manu Turko produced a brilliant save when he managed to stretch just enough to send the ball over the goal.

Depor got their third and final goal right at the end of the match; this time it was Antón with the assist and Michel Chinito Payne with the goal.
MOM was given to Tes.

DGL are slowly catching up to leaders FC Assyria, just seven points separate both teams, but Decabo’s men still have four games in hand.

DGL are back into action on the 7th of January against Hillingdon FC (K. O. 14:00 GMT). Hillingdon are 3rd in the league, a win would widen the gap between 2nd and 3rd to six points.

Kensington Dragons Res FC (4-4) DGL2
DGL2 faced a strong Dragons team as the opposition fielded practically all 1st team players due to their match being postponed.

That didn’t deter our lads though and came back from being 1-3 down to take the lead 3-4 only to be denied the win by a goal late on.

Goals from defenders Adam Vigo “it was a volley man” and Laurent Tancré which were then complimented by a fine brace from Emilio Mendes who has made scoring a regular thing now, so plenty of good stuff to look forward to from him.

DGL2 gaffer Abb Hamaida commenting that he was very pleased with the attitude and quality of football displayed by the players.
